CARGOMETER honored at the Austrian State Prize for Mobility 2017

Vienna-based tech company CARGOMETER was honored at the Austrian State Prize for Mobility 2017, presented by the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology. Alongside AVL List and Kreisel Electric, CARGOMETER was nominated for Austria’s highest mobility award.

The company impressed the jury with its fully automated 3D freight dimensioning system “in motion”, which measures the volume and weight of goods directly on the moving forklift. This dynamic freight dimensioning technology eliminates manual measurement, prevents incorrect tariffs, and helps optimize truck capacity while reducing CO₂ emissions.

Under the motto “Every millimeter counts,” CARGOMETER sets a new standard in digital logistics and fleet efficiency.

“Our vision is to reduce CO₂ emissions, conserve resources, and improve utilization. The State Prize nomination was an important milestone on our journey to revolutionize European groupage logistics,”
said Dr. Michael Baumgartner, CEO of CARGOMETER.

The award ceremony took place on November 27, 2017, at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, where Minister Jörg Leichtfried recognized Austria’s most innovative mobility projects.

“We are truly delighted to play in this league. Our vision is to reduce CO₂ emissions, conserve resources, optimize networks, and increase utilization. Our journey is taking us across Europe — CARGOMETER aims to revolutionize groupage logistics. The nomination for the State Prize was an important milestone on the way to achieving this goal.”
